Attention turns to tsunami survivors
Attention in the South Pacific is switching to bringing more relief to the homeless and injured in areas hit by a deadly tsunami on Tuesday. Nearly 200 people are now believed dead in Samoa, American Samoa, and Tonga after an earthquake triggered giant waves that pounded the coasts. On a stretch of coastline where the tsunami up-ended hundreds of tonnes of rubble, sand and soil, recovery workers are searching for bodies.
